William ‘Bunny Rugs’ Clarke was born in Mandeville, and later grew up in Kingston.  He was also known as Bunny Scott, recorded as a solo artist.  Rugs began his career in the mid-60s and was also at one time a member of Inner Circle and half of the duo Bunny & Ricky.

He became the lead singer for the iconic Reggae band, Third World, and spent 38 successful years with them. He also recorded collaborations with numerous artistes including Shabba Ranks, Horace Andy, Bounty Killer, Sean Paul, Papa San and may others.

Internationally reknowned Jamaican Disc Jock, Barry G, said he had the best voice in the business.  His smooth vocals was rich and clean and it was an essential component to the tremendous success of Third World.  As one of the longest running Reggae Bands of all time.  The band celebrated 40 years together, which include 10 Grammy nominations, 23 Albums, and two hand- full of awards including the prestigious United Nations Peace Medal.  His signature role as the front man and lead singer with band will be forever be recognized.

*Note – His grandmother gave him the name because he was always quick and jumping about the place, like a bunny rabbit…the Rugs came about from Third World, as he always liked to sleep on the floor.
